Quit Smoking

So you want to quit smoking? This site will explain how to quit smoking and suggests a tried-and-tested method to free yourself from your smoking habit.

There are two versions of the site, one for teens (in French only) and the other for adults.  Both propose an interactive method, including tips to quit smoking without gaining weight, a self-help forum, a chat room and other tools to keep you motivated during the process.


The Quit Smoking Centres
The quit smoking centres provide free information and support services to help you quit smoking in your region.
Canadian Cancer Society
  If you or someone close to you has cancer, and you need help and support, visit the Website of the Canadian Cancer Society or contact an information specialist at 1-888-939-3333.

The site (for now in French only) for young non-smokers, former smokers and smokers in Québec, who want to help encourage other teens to stop smoking and live tobacco-free lives! Its dynamic content includes games, downloadable tricks, a forum where you can say what you think, information on the Youth Coalition program, interviews with well-known personalities and so on.

The Québec Council on Tobacco and Health works to reduce smoking in Québec.Visit its website for more information on its prevention and awareness activities, the class action and methods for quitting cigarettes.
Ministère de la Santé et des services sociaux du Québec
If you would like to know what the Ministry of Health and Social Services is doing to help reduce smoking in Québec, visit the Website for answers to your questions on the Tobacco Act and various other programs.
